Mark Salyer

Award Winning Actor, Director and Producer

A native of Southwest Virginia, Mark Salyer is an award-winning actor, director and producer. In 2004, he was featured in Sophocles' Electra in Greece as part of the International Symposium on Greek Drama in Delphi celebrating the birth of Sophocles. Salyer was Atlanta's Best Guest Actor 2003 for Hedwig and the Angry Inch and has appeared in over 30 professional productions. Directing credits include Williams' Suddenly Last Summer, Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Menotti’s The Medium, Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Sondheim’s Into the Woods, Schwartz' Pippin and Godspell, and, at Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, Big River, Little Shop of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Show, Cabaret and An Evening with Stephen Schwartz starring Ben Vereen, Corbin Bleu, and the composer himself. While at the Roundabout Theatre in New York City, he worked on the general management team for the Tony Award winning Broadway production of Cabaret. Mark has taught at the University of Virginia and College of the Canyons in California. He is co-owner and the director of ARTreach, a production company developing professional and educational arts projects nationwide including the Broadway musical, Dark of the Moon.
