Intro to Magaly’s Holistic Acting Class
The process I am going to share with you is a self-awareness process, which leads to a more malleable more receptive instrument. The quicker you can identify the personal blockages that are manifested by external and internal triggers …the quicker you can own the success that is your right as an actor.
Your spirit, mind, and body - these are the tools/instruments you are working with as an actor. So, if you have blockages which are impeding your from fully realizing moments of truth in the work that make for a great performance…a great audition…you need a spirit, mind, body technique which make those obstacles nothing more than a distant memory.
Your mind is so powerful. We will reference the emerging research on the neuroplasticity of mind – a field of study that affirms that we have the ability to alter the structure and function of our brains, which then allows us to alter our daily lives. We will employ ancient (yoga, pranayama breathing, affirmations, mantras) and modern techniques (The Feldenkrais method, creative visualization, etc.) with one aim – to recharge your mind, and reignite your brilliant create energy.
This process involves learning and adopting a series of daily exercises designed to change your mind, and therefore your career. Change your mind, and therefore change your approach to acting. Change your mind, and therefore change your life.
Success requires a few key ingredients – desire, love, and faith. If you have a burning desire to change your life; if you have a deep-seated love of the craft; and if you have faith that you were born to touch the hearts and minds of people – then you have the most elemental characteristics to change your life and your career with my guidance.
Albert Einstein, one of the greatest minds of our times said, “doing the same thing and expecting different result is the definition of insanity. “
You deserve a different result. Join me and try something new.

Tracy “Twinkie” Byrd brings it. After having cast music videos for Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, Outkast, Madonna, Dwight Yoakum, Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Black Eyed Peas, Casting Director Tracy “Twinkie” Byrd has set her sights on Feature Films including Fox Searchlight film "NOTORIOUS," Sony's, "JUMPING THE BROOM," "BEING MARY JANE," "GABBY DOUGLAS STORY," "BLACK NATIVITY," "FRUITVALE STATION," and "SPARKLE." But if you ask Twinkie, she’ll tell you its ALL casting. Whether populating commercials, music videos, TV series or feature films, Twinkie is all about finding the right fit to every role. And her passion for talent is only paralleled by her passion for life. From her first gig scouting dancers for Def Comedy Jam in New York, Twinkie “Just did it”. She went on to cast music videos for Brett Ratner and then hit Los Angeles to learn from commercial casting goddess Megan Foley. Without so much as a local phone, Twinkie found a way to book sessions using the payphone down the block from her brothers’ couch (where she crashed for her first three months in LA). Anyone who has watched Twinkie work knows true talent, passion, and bliss for life itself. It’s why she’s been on the casting scene for over a decade and is still going strong as the FIRST casting director to make the leap from casting music videos to casting principals in major motion pictures! Annie Schwartz was born into the business, her mother a talent manager, and father a producer/director. At the age of 17, Annie began working as an assistant at a boutique talent agency, while she finished high school. Annie learned hands on how to run an office, nurture clients, read material, pitch clients and make deals and discovered a true passion for the process. Since then, Annie has worked as an associate producer at Paramount Studios on a variety of sets, such as Gary Marshall's sitcom "Happy Days". Two years later, she was hired by Nicole David, one of the owners of Triad Artists, which became one of the most powerful agencies of its time. Working with Jenny Delany in the television department, Annie witnessed hands on the start of many of today’s superstars, including, Bruce Willis, Mariska Hargitay, William Hurt, and many more. After working at JS&A for a year and a half, Annie opened up her own agency with a partner. They combined genuine enthusiasm and energy for the business and a similar work ethic and origin was born. Eleven years later, origin has diversified its talent agency. Origin represents actors, producers, writers, directors and hosting, along with reality television shows. .Show Less
