Marissa's knowledge of diet and overall well-being is second to none. Every question I had was met with a thorough yet easy to understand answer. She is a natural in front of the camera and a breeze to edit. Her preparation makes it a joy to work with her.
Marissa is a fabulous resource and role model. She makes creating your own personal healthy lifestyle creative and fun. Everything is approached and executed with realism and optimism.
After getting into a bad work situation that involved an impossible amount of hours, stress and weight gain to match I knew I needed to make a change. I've been following Marissa since she first founded MWAH. I was initially afraid to participate in any of the programs because I didn't think I was a good cook or "had what it took" to make a significant change in my life. Marissa's total reset program makes it easy to get started and make that change. She provides the list of ingredients, recipes, daily inspirational emails, and even some video blogs. I found that cooking for myself every day was stress relieving and gave me a sense of accomplishment that I hadn't felt in a while. I started to feel better about myself almost immediately! The program also pulled me outside my comfort zone. I would have never made a "green smoothie" in my life if it hadn't been for this program and the solid encouragement Marissa provided. Marissa's passion and dedication to not only this program but also in providing/encouraging woman to be as healthy as they can be is clear. I would recommend her to anyone at all who wants to get healthy but doesn't know where to start. I'd also recommend her if you do consider yourself relatively healthy but are ready to take it to the next level.
I have always considered myself relatively healthy but once I hit 30 my body started to change. I did a search on nutrition and wellness and started following a few blogs, including "Where I Need to Be". That is how I discovered MWAH! After being an avid follower of this blog for several months I finally decided to invest in my health and hire a health coach, and the obvious selection for me was Marissa of Marissa's Well-being and Health. I felt like I already knew her really well because she is so open about her own journey and it was something I could relate to. What I like most about Marissa is that she's different than other health coaches and nutritionists because her approach is truly holistic and less focused on weight loss. It's more about becoming a healthy person from the inside out, eating whole foods and knowing what is right for my body. Marissa's blog also has a never ending supply of delicious, easy-to-make recipes, tips on how to maintain your energy level naturally, and one of my favorite features is "healthy hot spots" where different restaurants in the city are highlighted and she teaches you how to order healthy options, even if you go to a steak house! MWAH! has helped me restore confidence in the kitchen and continues to be a great resource for inspiration on a daily basis. Marissa is not only my health coach but has now became a very dear and trusted friend.
After moving away from my healthy, fast-paced life in NYC and having two children, I found myself at my highest weight, surrounded by terrible food choices, and was struggling with time management. I knew Marissa and saw a post for MWAH on FB. I knew I had to do something and thought THIS might be it. I was skeptical going in, thinking I was generally healthy and had the tools just not the time. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Not only did Marissa help me streamline my days to include healthy meals and workouts, but our bi-monthly meetings were a great way for me to de-stress just by talking out some of my frustrations. Towards the end of my 6 month session with Marissa, my dad passed away unexpectedly. I have to say that her support was imperative to me not backsliding into emotional eating or giving up during a tumultuous time. I really don't think I can appreciate her anymore for helping me tune into myself and create a better, happier, less-stressed mother to my kids.
