Actor Reviews

I love coaching with LaRita via webcam, because she knows what she's talking about. Her techniques helped me tremendously! She helped me feel at ease and answered all of my questions without any hesitation, and she didn't make me feel like my million questions were ridiculous. LOVE working with her!

Industry Reviews

I would love to tell all of you how long I've known LaRita Shelby, but she might not like that.:-) So, what I can tell you is that she is intelligent, loving, caring and extremely selfless. I heard her singing at an audition many years ago. She was so incredible, I waited outside of the audition just to meet her. In short, we've been very close friends ever since. Not only is she a great singer, she is an amazing actor!!!! She's one of the best industry experts I know. She can help any actor or singer do incredible work with their auditions!

I had the pleasure of directing actress LaRita Shelby in Judi Ann Mason's A Star Ain't Nothing but a Hole in Heaven when she was only 14 years old. LaRita played the role of a conflicted teen who wanted to seek her purpose in the world and go to college versus staying at home and taking care of aging guardians who took her in when her parents died. At the moment that LaRita auditioned, I knew that she was going to be a force to be reckoned with on stage. LaRita not only brought her character to life with critical acclaim but she brought out the best in her fellow "older" actors with her consummate professionalism. She continues to do this today, while teaching and coaching up and coming actors. I would recommend LaRita Shelby to teach and coach anyone who wants a meteorite career. She learned from the best! (wink).

The first time she showed up to run her group with our kids she was ready for action. The kids that we house are emotionally disturbed youth. They are often the worst of the worst and have been in the system for years, with nowhere left to turn or go. She stepped into the group with a great attitude and had the kids throwing themselves at her to participate in her activities. She taught the kids about Greek tragedy and classical Shakespeare and eventually incorporated contemporary scenes that the kids could relate to. LaRita is already a great educator but gaining her Masters Degree (in Media & Communications Psychology) has made her an even better educator and mentor in my eyes.
